Bruriah is one of the few women named in the Talmud. More interestingly, she is one of the only learned women mentioned. We will examine the stories told about her and ask the question: Who do the rabbis see as the ideal woman? Today in 2015, is Bruriah a role model for the modern woman, or a relic of past patriarchy? Back by popular demand from last year's Limmud, Yaffa leads us in a fascinating text-study session, open to all levels of experience or lack of experience with Jewish texts.
