Ethiopian Aliyah: The Past, Present, and Future for Ethiopians in Israel

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Learn about the Jewish community in Ethiopia through three lenses: The Past—why they consider themselves Jews; their lives before moving to Israel; the many inspiring ways they came to Israel; and the challenges they faced once they made it to the 'Holy Land.' The Present—life in Israel as an Ethiopian immigrant; difficulties assimilating into Israeli society; and the question of how/whether to maintain an Ethiopian Jewish identity. The Future—what does the future look like for this unique community?
