Jewish Life in Today's Diverse Family

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The traditional Jewish family has been transformed by a new social reality. The composition of family is rapidly changing through increased cross-cultural and interfaith marriages, single parenting by choice, and same sex families. This session will examine the "cohabitation" of our Jewish identity, tradition, and culture in these diverse family compositions. We will discuss the creation of new Jewish rituals and celebrations, social action and other values as a strategy for the cohabitation of Jewishness. This is a great opportunity to learn, share, and strengthen our understanding of complex family dynamics, and encourage a dialogue about creating supportive and cohesive families .
