Finding God Even in Temper Tantrums: Parenting as a Spiritual Practice

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Being a new parent is exhausting, crazy-making, and changes every aspect of your life. At the same time, Jews have an image of "G-d the Father" (Avinu in Hebrew) often invoked during the High Holidays. But it's hard to think about G-d during a level five temper tantrum in the middle of the supermarket. In this session, we'll watch and discuss Danya Ruttenberg's ELI talk, "Parenting as a Spiritual Practice," and think together about how parents can find radical amazement, prayer, and even a sense of the divine while raising their children. This session is geared towards families with young children, but children and parents of all ages are welcome!
