The Limmud Chavruta Project: Judaism on Food and Sustainability

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Chavruta is the Hebrew and Aramaic word for friendship or partnership. It’s also the term used for an interactive learning experience in which small groups of people explore, debate and discuss Jewish values and concepts. Together we will look at the Jewish perspective on food and sustainability using ancient sources, modern scholarship, song lyrics, and more. Are trees G-d’s most beautiful works? How could waste be good? Is vegetarianism Jewish? How do we achieve food sustainability? Everyone is welcome, and no prior knowledge of Jewish texts or Hebrew is required.
