G-d, Torah and the Carbon Cycle: How the Creator Sustains Life

Judaism teaches us that G-d sustains all of creation. The combination of the 22 letters of the Ten Utterances, those phrases in Genesis that begin with the words "And G-d said," and end with "And it was so," reside permanently in creation. Science argues that creation can be reduced to molecules and the atoms that comprise them. An analysis based on the quantities and numerical values of the Hebrew letters shows they are identical with the numerical values of the elements and their constituent parts and quantities in the carbon cycle. This comparison reconciles two seemingly different explanations—one from Torah, and one from science—of how life is sustained.
