Grandma's Arak Recipe: A Taste & Virtual Tour of Yerucham's Liquor & Wine Factory

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Arak (an anise-flavored alcoholic beverage similar to Ouzo) is the liquor of choice in many North African and Middle Eastern (Mizrachi) Jewish homes and is central to celebrations of Mizrachi Jewish culture. Two brothers in Miami's sister city of Yerucham used their grandma's arak recipe to create a successful liquor and wine factory, mixing family roots, idealism, and entrepreneurial skills to distill an intoxicating brew and craft an international reputation. We will hear their story and take a virtual tour of the factory, "meeting" the brothers who run the business while tasting some of their factory’s products. Note: Open to those 21 and older with a photo ID.

Made possible by funds from the Greater Miami Jewish Federation's Yerucham Partnership.
