Batia Cohen has a PhD in Mesoamerican Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad Metropolitana in Mexico City. A former Adjunct Professor at Florida International University, she currently lectures at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Miami and Florida International University and with CAJE Miami Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning and others. Cohen has published numerous articles in Art and History magazines and is currently a collaborator in the Spanish-language online cultural magazine, LetraUrbana.com. She is the author of the historical novel Una Amapola Entre Cactus.
